At Eutree, we believe sustainability should be seamless and integrated into the built environment without compromise to quality, beauty, or performance. When approached with discipline and innovation, responsible sourcing becomes not a trend, but a higher standard.
We are helping define that standard within the hardwood industry.
Our timber is not harvested from standing forests. Instead, we source exceptional hardwoods from nuisance and hazardous tree removals throughout the urban environment of Atlanta. These are mature trees that have already completed their natural lifecycle in the city’s neighborhoods and commercial corridors. Rather than allowing this valuable material to be discarded, we mill it with precision and purpose transforming it into refined architectural products.
We call this approach Forest Free®.
From flooring and paneling to beams, slabs, and hardwood lumber, every product we produce carries the distinct character of a tree that once shaped the local landscape. The material is inherently unique defined by density, grain, and scale that can only come from time.

OUR STORY
Eutree Founder, Sims Acuff
Eutree was built from the ground up — not in a boardroom, but in the yard. Among logs, sawdust, and the steady rhythm of real work.
What began as a passion for salvaging local trees quickly became something more. We saw opportunity where others saw waste, storm-felled hardwoods, urban removals, forgotten trunks with character and history still intact. Each log carried a story. We decided to honor it.
Founder Sims Acuff grew up working with wood. As an arborist in Atlanta and owner of Tree Tailors for over a decade, he developed a deep respect for the trees he was hired to remove. Many were grand, mature oaks, pecans, and other hardwoods structurally sound, rich in character yet destined to be ground into mulch or hauled to landfills simply because they had become nuisances or stood in the way of construction.
“I got tired of throwing away logs,” Sims recalls.
Like many tree service professionals, he understood the irony: the very trees being removed were often the most impressive specimens — dense, slow-grown hardwoods with a presence that could not be replicated. He knew there had to be a better way to steward that material.
"It's so important that we stop neglecting the treasure of old-growth trees around us and begin utilizing the timber that is being removed from people's yard", Sims explains.
In 2010, Sims founded a different kind of mill.
Rather than harvesting from forests, Eutree interrupts the conventional supply chain by sourcing premium hardwood logs from nuisance and hazardous tree removals throughout metro Atlanta. Because thousands of hardwoods are removed in the region each year, we are highly selective choosing only the finest logs to bring to our mill just outside the city.
What began as a practical solution has evolved into a disciplined, vertically integrated operation. We work directly with trusted tree service partners to source exceptional logs, which we then mill, kiln dry, plane, mould, and grade in-house. The result is a refined portfolio of architectural hardwood products: flooring, paneling, beams, slabs, lumber, and custom millwork crafted to meet the standards of high-end residential and commercial design.
At the same time, our model fulfills a growing demand for responsibly sourced hardwoods without the volatility of traditional forest-based supply chains. Local sourcing supports green building objectives and shortens material lead times, but more importantly, it reflects a simple belief: The most valuable timber is often already around us.
